Visit of Professor JS Chang

Professor JS Chang has been Professor in the Department of Engineering Physics at McMaster University, Canada since 1987 and has authored or edited 15 Books, 4 Patents, 222 Refereed Journal and 454 Conference papers. Currently he is also Adjunct Professor in Musashi Inst.Tech (Japan), and the Environmental & Safety Research Institute (P.R. China). He is also a member of the United Nation Environment Sub Committee & the Canadian Government Environment Technical Committee.

During his visit to the Department, he conducted a seminar on 19 January 2000 on "Real time neutron radiography studies of two-phase flow in a heat exchanger".  He described his research group's investigations of the multi-dimension two-phase flow void distribution in a metal pipe heat exchanger, using a real time neutron radiography system in a 5 MW McMaster Nuclear Reactor with advanced image analyses. The effect of heat transfer enhancement on the void distribution of boiling Freon 134a was discussed in detail.
