Professor Clarence de Silva returns as Visiting Professor! |
| We very warmly welcome
back Professor Clarence de Silva as Visiting Professor from 3 January -
31 August 2005. His expertise and eminence is known by many in the
Faculty of Engineering, having been here as both a Distinguished
Visiting Professor (ME Department) and the Mobil Endowed Chair
Professorship, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department (ECE) in
previous years. He had made many contributions when he was with us
previously. Prof. de Silva has authored some 14 technical books, 13 edited volumes, about 130 journal papers and a similar number of conference papers and book chapters. He has served on the editorial boards of 12 prestigious international journals and currently an editor or editor-in-chief of four. A joint appointment between ME and ECE departments, Prof. de Silva's visit here is to provide faculty from both departments with good opportunity to interact with him closely in their research. He will be involved in teaching an undergraduate as well as a graduate level course during the period of attachment. All are invited to engage in academic and research discussion with Professor de Silva during his stay here. |
