ME5307 Computational Aerodynamics

This graduate level module is an introduction on the application of numerical methods and techniques for solving compressible fluid flow in conjunction with the energy equation. Major topics to be covered areas follows: Review of basic theory, derivation of governing equations for compressible flow, theory of hyperbolic system of equations, concepts of numerical solution, coordinate transformation and grid generation, solution of Euler equations, compressible Navier-Stokes equations. Some knowledge on compressible fluid flow is assumed. This module is especially recommended for students who have an interest or pursuing research work on the application of compressible and incompressible CFD.
